Responsibilities

Work collaboratively to develop educational resources and activities for K-12 and/or community education
Expand Ottawa Riverkeeper’s Learning Library materials
Include connections to Ontario and Quebec school curricula in educational materials
Deliver educational workshops and lessons, both online and in person
Build educational partnerships with school and community groups
Support the development of River School’s learning spaces (indoor and outdoor)
Co-develop educational resources that support water literacy in under-represented communities, youth, women and girls, etc.
Track and evaluate ongoing educational activities

Teaching experience, preferably in environmental education, science education, Indigenous education or a related field (formal or informal)
Experience teaching in person and online would be an asset
Familiarity with Ontario and/or Quebec school curriculum and school boards within the watershed is desirable
Strong understanding of environmental issues from diverse perspectives encouraged (science, social justice, arts, Indigenous rights, youth engagement, civic engagement)
Must have strong written and oral communication skills in French and/or English
Strong written and oral communication skills in the second language is a very strong asset
Able to work both independently and within a team
A creative individual and a self-starter is highly desired
Ability to work from home
Flexible with evening and weekend availability
Valid driver’s licence and access to a car would be an asset
