Responsibilities:

• Answering telephone calls, chat, emails and walk-in requests for IT service requests
• Providing first level support for service requests and creating service tickets for further actions as required
• Escalating service requests to senior technicians or management as required
• Following up to ensure work requests have been completed
• Resolving computer password problems for students, faculty and support staff, resetting passwords as required
• Providing first level support for phone system requests
• Basic account creation and maintenance for network and phone users, following established procedures and guidelines.
• Providing guidance and on the job training to students working at the IT Service desk

Qualifications:

• Two-year Diploma in an IT related field
• One year of relevant practical experience; previous Service Desk or Helpdesk experience is preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills
• Demonstrated technical skills and basic knowledge of computer components and peripherals
• Ability to work in a team environment
