The Part-time Simulation Lab Technologist works in the Health Sciences patient care learning labs and specializes in setting-up and operating high fidelity human patient simulation mannequins. This requires familiarization with mannequin features, programs and proficiency with the operation of computers and audiovisual equipment. The Technologist is well versed in simulation as a teaching strategy and is expected to convey this knowledge when working with faculty and students in delivering simulation. The Technologist also participates in debriefing after the scenario giving feedback from the patient’s perspective as the technologist is the voice of the mannequin. Each technologist is an important part of the sim lab team and is expected to be a contributing member and work cooperatively with others. The ideal candidate is expected to be adaptable to change and work flexible hours which may include occasional evenings and weekends.
