Responsibilities:

Responsible for the administration of reviews and assessments for full-time OSAP as well as functioning as the primary resource for part-time OSAP by reviewing applications, determining eligibility, and troubleshooting issues regarding the overlap of the two funding programs
Determines if an application should be assessed as a special case
Interprets policy, and processes OSAP appeals, ensuring compliance with Ministry guidelines
Determines which appeals must be sent to the Ministry and prepares the appeal on behalf of the student
Advises students with unique or complex financial or family situations and recommends other financial aid options as appropriate
Ensures appropriate documentation is collected for individual appeals.

Qualifications:

Two-year Diploma in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline
Three years of experience in an academic environment, including one year of experience working with OSAP and other financial aid programs
Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information and understanding of FIPPA legislation
Demonstrated communication skills and customer service excellence
Experience using computer applications i.e. e-mail, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases
Documentation skills
Creative problem-solving skills to resolve a range of complex problems and to develop and recommend solutions to address student financial needs.
